Viticulture Mission’s Cable Station vineyard located in the Awatere Valley of Marlborough possesses a special aspect with gentle slopes. The soils comprise of sandy loams with a proportion of clay particles that overlay a gravel subsoil. These free-draining soils promote excellent vine health and moderate vigour resulting in fruit with intense varietal character.
Winemaking The fruit was lightly pressed with minimal skin contact. This wine is made from the free-run juice and very soft pressings. It was fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperature to retain the full varietal flavour of the fruit. The wine was aged on yeast lees for a short time giving optimum balance, complexity and a full mouthfeel.
A beautiful wine with fresh lime, lemon and juicy pear character.
Florals with peach combine for a softly textured palate with a long,
refreshing finish.
