This exceptional wine was awarded two Gold Medals in the prestigious International Wine Challenge and International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWC & IWSC), reaffirming Mission Estate’s commitment to crafting world-class wines that exceed expectation. In addition, the 2019 Huchet Syrah became one of two New Zealand wines to secure a Masters Medal in the esteemed Global Wine Masters 2022 competition late last year.

Renowned for their rigorous judging process and high standards, IWC & IWSC attracts the best wines from around the world. In this fiercely competitive environment, the 2019 Huchet Syrah demonstrated its outstanding quality and craftsmanship, receiving a coveted Gold Medal.

The 2019 Huchet Syrah boasts a distinctive character, exhibiting a deep garnet hue with aromas of blackberries, violets, and cracked black pepper. On the palate, it showcases a harmonious blend of ripe dark fruit, integrated oak, and finely structured tannins. This Syrah exemplifies the unique terroir of the Hawke’s Bay region, where Mission Estate Winery has been producing exceptional wines for over 170 years.
