Taste Magazine (Bob Campbell)

Mission Fete Sparkling

...It's a deliciously fruity blend of chardonnay and pinot gris, with just a hint of sweetness to make it a real crowd-pleaser.

Winestate Magazine

2013 Mission Estate Gewurztraminer
Four stars

Exotically perfumed.  mouthfilling, with very youthful, slightly sweet pear and lychee flavours, balanced acidity and excellent varietal character, depth and charm.

Food Magazine (Jane Skilton)

2013 Mission Estate Gewurztraminer

A pretty, lightly spicy wine that is very appealing without being over the top.  Red apple, ginger and cinnamon spcie flavours, just a wee hint of sweetness and a crisp, fresh finish.  Delicious drinking.

2010 Mission Huchet Syrah
Five stars

...a rare Hawke's Bay wine.A great candidate for cellaring, it is dark with dense blackcurrant, plum, spice and nut flavours, supple and sustained.

Bob Campbell, Gourmet Traveller Magazine

2010 Mission Huchet Syrah

Dense, powerful yet elegant syrah with impressive mineral, violet, raspberry, plum, pepper and spice flavours.  Still fairly restrained but with huge potential.

2012 Mission Reserve Chardonnay

The 2012 Chardonnay is highly attractive in its youth, with fresh, strong, citrusy and peachy flavours, lively acidity, a hint of butterscotch and good richness and complexity.

2012 Mission Estate Martinborough Pinot Noir

Attractively scented, with mouthfilling body, strong ripe cherry, plum, spice and dried herb flavours, and a well rounded finish, it's already delicious.  It even scooped a gold medal in London recently at the International Wine Challenge, which won't do sales any harm.

Jancis Robinson

2010 Mission Huchet Syrah
17.5 points

It's a thoroughly fine wine, recognisably savoury Syrah but with a ripe palate entry.  The tannin structure is excellent; the wine is delicious now but will clearly last very well...Lovely persistence.

2010 Mission Jewelstone Merlot Cabernet Franc
17 points

Mid crimson.  warm, well bedded in, quite complex, 'relaxed' nose.  Still quite a bit of tannin on the finish but a very nice quality of them: light gravelly somehow.  Sweet start but not a heavy wine with the oak particularly well managed.  Really rather sophisticated.  Real lift to this with Merlot predominating.

John Saker, Sunday Star-Times magazine

2010 Mission Huchet Syrah

It is rare (just 911 bottles made), justifiably pricy...and sensationally good.  It's so at ease with itself; drenching dark fruit, subtle spice notes that keep changing, and elegant tannins that resolve beautifully.
