Mission Estate Winery has capped off a successful 2006 after winning a raft of Gold Medals at several shows for wines from its 2005 vintage.
As well as four Gold Medals, Mission Estate won 13 Silver Medals for several wines, and a Blue Gold Award at the prestigious Sydney International Wine Awards for its 2005 Reserve Syrah. It is the second year running that the Mission Estate Reserve Syrah has won the Blue Gold award, consistently outperforming Australian wines in the home of Shiraz.
Mission Estate’s limited edition 2005 Reserve Noble Semillon has been hugely successful having won three Gold Medals since its release, including a Gold medal at the prestigious New Zealand International Wine Show. This high quality tasting dessert wine also won a Silver medal at the recent Air New Zealand Wine Awards.
Mission Estate’s 2005 Reserve Chardonnay won a Gold Medal in the Liquorland Top 100. It has also won four Silver Awards across several international and local wine shows.
Mission Estate brand manager, Rebecca Nicholls says this year’s top results speak for themselves, and reinforces Mission Estate’s reputation as a leading local and international wine producer.
“We’ve been very pleased with the results from the 2005 vintage. These award wins follow on from a successful 2004 vintage for which we won four Gold Medals at various shows, so we’re very much looking forward to next year,” says Ms Nicholls. “It’s great to know our wines are of a consistent high quality, and ever popular with wine show judges.”
Mission Estate’s four Gold Awards in 2005 included a Blue-Gold Award for the 2004 Mission Reserve Syrah at the Sydney International Wine Competition; Gold for its 2004 Mission Jewelstone Chardonnay at the 2005 New Zealand International Wine Show; Gold for 2004 Mission Reserve Chardonnay at the 2005 Mercedes Benz Hawke’s Bay Wine Show, and Gold for the 2004 Mission Reserve Cabernet Merlot at the 2005 Air New Zealand Wine Awards.
