Caine's comments

George and Robyn's vineyard is located further up Ohiti Road and borders brother Ian Gunn who also supplies Mission Estate. Once a significant family farm, the flat land at the base of the hills was developed into a vineyard and the hill country is still farmed with sheep and cattle. The soil consists of mainly silty loam over shingle and the climate is cooler than further down Ohiti Road. The site suits aromatic varieties and early ripening red varieties. George and Robyn are one of Mission Estate's larger growers.

If you can't find George on the vineyard he is likely fishing at Lake Taupo or closer to home in the Pacific Ocean.
