Caine's comments:   Allan and Sue's vineyard is located on the other side of the Ngaruroro River which separates this vineyard from the Gimblett Gravels. This block is still very stony - perfect for red wine production. Located at the base of the hills this vineyard is protected from the south making this vineyard equally as warm as our Gimblett Gravels vineyard. The result is ripe, intensely flavored fruit from balanced vines producing fruit driven wines of integrity and complexity. Allan Gunn is a cousin of George and Ian Gunn who also grow for Mission Estate.

Allan travels extensively overseas, so when not on the vineyard he can be found in various parts of the US and Australia.
